A 6 mm mat, which is the thickness most people settle on: 3 mm is too hard on the knees for floor work and 10 mm is too unstable for standing balance poses. NBR foam is closed-cell, so sweat sits on the surface and wipes off instead of soaking in and smelling.

At 183 x 61 cm it covers a full body lying down for anyone up to roughly 180 cm tall. It rolls to about 15 cm across and comes with a strap, so it carries over a shoulder rather than under an arm.

Does it smell when new?
Mildly, for a few days. Unroll it in a ventilated room and wipe it down once — the smell goes.

Is it suitable for hot yoga?
It works, but the surface gets slick once wet. Use a towel over the mat for heated classes.
